72.5W3 current transformer is inverted oil/paper insulation type product. The main insulation is wound from high

voltage cable paper, and is placed several capacitor screen of voltage division in the primary insulation, which

can improve electric field distributing and decrease the consumption of insulation material.

This series oil-immersed inverted current transformer, it is an inverted full closed structure. It consists of a

bellows,oil level guage, primary terminal, a body, a porcelain bushing, a base, a terminal box, rating plate

oil drain valve,and earthing pad.

Structure Characteristics
1. Profile
These kind of current transformer is a oil-immersed inverted type structure with capacitor screen bushing,

a good insulation performance, small diameter to make the product compared to the tank type structure have

a lower weight for transporation and installation conveniently.
The top of product is the current transformer active parts, the mid-parts is the porcelain bushing, and the bottom

is base. The tank, base and terminal box are all the casting aluminum.
Change of the primary winding could achieve the different ratios, such as 1:2,1:2:4 and so on. Provide the

reliable earthed terminal for the terminal box. All the current transformer are the sealed structure, at the top of product

has a stainless steel bellow, it could adjust the volume change due to the temperature change at a certain scope.

2. External Insulation
The external insulation is made of HV and high strength porcelain bushing materials.
For the surface maintenance methods, please refer to the ‘Inspection and Maintenance’ .

3. Primary Connection Terminal
The primary connection terminal is at the top of Current Transformer, the shape and size are determined as per

special requirements of contract. Please refer to the below figure to find that how to change the ratio by change of

primary connection.

4. Secondary Connection Terminal
The secondary connection terminals are located in the moistureproof secondary terminal box.
Secondary connection terminals apply PHOENIX combinated connection terminals for connecting with the 2.5～10mm2

connection leads conveniently.
Safety Caution: The secondary winding of current transformer must be short-circuit and special terminal ‘CT’ must be

earthed when unused.
5. Earth Terminal
There is one earth terminal on the base of current transformer.
